PrairiesCan helping Local Manufacturing Grow

Innovative Stonecraft Inc. (“Innovative Stonecraft”) is pleased to have been the recipient of support under the Jobs and Growth Fund (JGF) initiative from Prairies Economic Development Canada (“PrairiesCan”). This initiative provided funding support of $137,500.00 allowing Innovative Stonecraft to scale up the production and marketing of their environmentally friendly, locally manufactured, stone veneer products.

Innovative Stonecraft is a Canadian manufacturer of a crafted stone veneer product used in the construction industry to increase the aesthetic appeal of buildings’ interior or exteriors. It is a concrete product formed to have the look of stone, brick or rock. Established in the summer of 2019, it has a vision to provide high quality stone veneer products in Canada, using locally sourced raw materials. Today Innovative Stonecraft has 8 distributors and over 15 retail affiliate retailers across western Canada. With positive feedback and collaboration with the masonry professionals the company saw a steady growth pattern. Innovative Stonecraft products maintain overall competitive supply chain advantage over companies that import products from overseas or cross the borders.

This targeted funding under JGF allowed Innovative Stonecraft to improve the product quality and increase the production capacity to meet the growing demand of their product. The purchase and installation of new equipment including a semi-automated batch mixing system made the production processes more efficient, increased the product consistency and increased production capacity by 300%. The last and most important item this funding allowed was the ability to increase employment and training of our local residents. We are excited to be a part of an economically strong Saskatchewan and created 5 new full time employment opportunities. In the next one to two years the company is looking to add an additional 10 positions. With Innovative Stonecraft’s drive to be environmental and local, this means spin off work for local suppliers, downstream freight carriers and distributors – Keeping Canadian dollars in Canada and making for a stronger Saskatchewan & Canada.

“Our Government is continuing to make smart investments in Saskatchewan’s manufacturing sector creating jobs and environmentally friendly, high quality construction products both locally and beyond,” said the Honourable Dan Vandal, Minister for PrairiesCan. “Investing in the growth of local businesses like Innovative Stonecraft will create a stronger, more diverse economy for all Canadians.”

Innovative Stonecraft is very grateful for the support of PrairiesCan and our current growth potential would not have been possible without their support. We look forward to what the future holds for Saskatchewan, Western Canadian business and all our partners.
